Champagne Billecart Salmon NV Rose
Billecart-Salmon Rosé is one of Champagne's greatest treasures. Not an obvious, overt style, but instead it is crystal pure, and elegant with a just hint of colour. The wine is made from 40% Chardonnay, 30% Meunier and 30% Pinot Noir and is aged for 36 months on its lees. The palate is zesty with citrus notes of pink grapefruit and a creaminess to the palate
Champagne Billecart-Salmon dates back to 1818. It is a small Champagne house with a focus on producing harmonious Champagnes from around 300 hectares of vines. The greatest claim to fame of Billecart is the 'Champagne of the Millennium' tasting which took place in 1999. A panel of expert tasters organised by writer and established Champagne guru Richard Jurlin voted Billecart's 1959 the overall winner. Not just that, their 1961 came 2nd.
We are pleased to introduce these wines, and we have started with a small range which comprises their Brut Reserve, Rosé and vintage 2008 Extra Brut
