Geoffroy makes a flamboyant syle of Rose packed with ripe red fruit and forest berries. A truly hedonistic style.
Rosé Champagne can be made by two methods: the most common is known as 'addition' whereby the clear white wine is coloured with the addition of red wine. The other method is known as 'saigné'. This is made with, usually, only black grapes with the colour coming from a gentle maceration in the press. This makes a slightly different style of wine. The colour is different, for a start, but also the palate is more generously flavoured. This 2nd method is how this wine is made - a style made famous by Laurent Perrier for their rosé.
There is not neccessarily a quality difference between the two methods, it is more of a 'style' thing. What we like about this method is that is uses grapes that are specifically grown to make rosé.
