Octomore 14.3 Islay Super Heavily Peated Single Malt Whisky 61.4%

Octomore is the name given to the super heavily peated single malts from Bruichladdich Distillery. The 14 series is the latest batch for 2023.

It was distilled in 2017 from the 2016 harvest of 100% Octomore farm, Islay-grown Concerto barley. Aged five years in a combination of first-fill, ex-American whisky casks and second-fill wine casks. Peated to a very impressive 214.2 PPM

Hot, sweet mash aromas are unmistakable on the nose, with the soft, biscuit notes of the malted barley complementing the earthy peat smoke. While smouldering peat lingers, creamy porridge and cereal notes of the Islay barley balance the butterscotch, honeycomb and hint of vanilla.
