Falanghina
Falanghina is a white grape variety native to southern Italy, specifically the Campania region. It is known for producing crisp, dry white wines with aromas and flavours of citrus, apple, and floral notes.
Falanghina reaches its peak of quality in the province of Benevento where it occupies a great portion of the vineyard compared to Fiano and Greco, the two other major white varieties of Campania. Falanghina has a reputation for lacking the ageing potential of Fiano, but we have found many ambitious examples which not only endure with ageing but develop further complexity over time.
In addition to Campania, Falanghina is also grown in other regions of Italy such as Puglia, Molise, and Abruzzo. It is also being grown in other parts of the world, including Australia and California.
According to the latest vine census there are just over 3,000 hectares of Falanghina in Italy.
