Philippe Guerin's wine are a recent addition to our list and what a breath of fresh air.
We have always been fans of Muscadet - a wine that can start from deliciously simple to extraordinarily complex and ageworthy. Lucky for us that Philippe has his feet in both camps. His Muscadet Sur Lie is as delicious a wine we have come across for this style, whilst his Vin de Pays Merlot can cause serious embarrassment to Bordeaux Superieur. From time to time we will get small quantities of his excellent single vineyard Muscadets: we are particularly fond of his Clos de la Pingossiere which behaves more like a Chablis Grand Cru than most Chablis Grand Crus do.
