Carricante

Carricante

Carricante is a white grape variety primarily grown in the Etna region of Sicily, Italy. It is known for producing high-quality wines with flavours of citrus, pear, and mineral notes. Carricante is typically used to make dry white wines, but it can also be used in blends to add acidity and freshness. The grape is known for its ability to retain acidity even in hot climates, which makes it well-suited to the volcanic soils and high altitudes of Mount Etna. Carricante is a relatively rare grape variety, with only 260 hectares according to the Italian grapevine census of 2000, and now decline from its peak of 1800 hectares in 1970
