Biondi Santi
Biondi Santi
Biondi Santi is Montalcino’s most historic estates, and indeed one of Italy’s blue-chip producers having established its reputation for fine, ageworthy back wines in the 19thcentury. The wines are notoriously backward when young, but when fully mature, they blossom into complex, silky, elegant and very fine wines: amongst the best that Italy has to offer.
The vineyards occupy an enviable position close to the town of Montalcino on the ‘Il Greppo’ estate, and has been in the hands of the Biondi Santi family since the mid 18thcentury, but has recently been acquired by Christophe Descours who also owns Charles Heidsieck Champagne.
