Cabernet Franc is considered a a component of a classic Red Bordeaux blend being found in all red wine producing appellations of the region, reaching its peak in the best wines of Saint Emilion and Pomerol where it is prized more then its cousin Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are known for their high fragrance which has leafy, tobacco notes as well as black and red fruits, and some spice.
