Chianti

Chianti & Chianti Classico

Chianti Classico is loosely based on the geographical feature of the Monti del Chianti, a series of mountains stretching between Florence and Siena. This area is known for its very fine and ageworthy Sangioveses, crisper than those found in the more southerly Montalcino. This area is a hotbed of talent, but also of long-established producers of great renown. Unlike Brunello, Chianti allows a small proportion of other varieties to be blended, but it must be Sangiovese dominant.
