Uruguay
Tannat is to Uruguay as what Malbec is to Argentina. Here, similarly, is a variety which originates in South-West France, and has become each country’s signature variety. Due to the mix of both Spanish and Italian colonial history, there is a legacy of Italian varieties grown here too, being one of the few areas of the world that I will consider listing wines from the Nebbiolo variety: my great passion.
