Penfold's 2018 Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon

In stock

Bin 407 is a pure Cabernet, and very much in the same vein as its big brother, the 707. Flamboyant, hedonistic and full of cassis, mint and cedarwood aromas. In many respects it has a passing resemblance to a fine left bank Bordeaux but the mid-palate fruit is richer and denser to be a total facsimile, but nonetheless it has the class.

The Producer

For more than 170 years, Penfold's has been at the forefront of Australian winemaking, further enhancing their reputation in the 1950s when they first produced the country's first blue-chip wine, Grange Hermitage, now known simply as 'Grange'. Nowadays there is a vast range of wines produced here, and you could be forgiven for getting lost with all the various Bins and vineyard names. Suffice to say that there is a 'house' style - a kind of richness and depth to the wine, certainly powerful, but most of all, quintessentially South Australian in style. They are the experts in this as they practically invented it.
