A properly delicious Sangiovese from Australia's cool climate of the Yarra Valley which has than a hint of 'Italianality' to it. Hints of sour cherries, bright red currant and scents of the forest. So cool and fresh it is quite difficult to believe that is an Aussie wine.

Australia

The UK is Australia's largest market by volume and second only to France in terms of countries in this market. There is no denying that the British love affair, which began in the 1980s, still continues. However, still the vast majority of what we see here, 85%, is bulk shipped. The nation struggles to celebrate its best wines and producers.

At Noble Grape we seek out the best that the Australia can offer and shout its regional diversity from the rooftops. Dowie Doole from McLaren Vale is one of the stars of our range. One of James Halliday's 5-star wineries, and offers incredible value for money.

Henschke is one of Australia's Crown Jewels. Now in their 6th generation of the Henschke family, the estate is most known for its old vines Shirazs from Eden Valley, culminating with Hill of Grace, one of the world's finest wines made from this variety.

Cool climate is all the rage now, and we have been seeking out delicious examples from Coonawarra, Yarra Valley and elsewhere. These wines smash the notion that Oz is all about big, jammy, alcoholic wines, bringing a degree of refreshment and sense of terroir.

Italian Grape Varieties in Australia

Being an Italian Specialist, we are always seeking out wines throughout the world made from Italian grape varieties. The place that we having most success in is Australia. Maybe it's the climate, or perhaps it's having a ready made market in cities such as Melbourne and Sydney with high densities of Italian populations, that these wines have gained such a footing so far from their ancestral home.

Italy's two main black varieties, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese are both well represented here, but we are also finding great examples of Nero d'Avola, Fiano, and Montepulciano.
