Three New Releases from Luigi Einaudi
Luigi Einaudi is arguably the best producer of Dolcetto in Italy, and their reputation goes back to 1897 when the winery was established by Luigi Einaudi, who later became the 2nd President of the Italian Republic. The winery is based in Dogliani but also has many prestigious vineyards in Barolo and Barbaresco. The estate is now run by Einaudi's great-grandson, Matteo Sardagna who maintains the culture of excellence in the entire range of wines.
In this collection is their 2020 Dogliani: their most important wine in terms of volume and is a category defining wine, we struggle to think of a better example of fantastic, everyday, authentic Italian wine. Vigna Tecc 2019 is their single vineyard expression, released a little later as it undergoes further ageing in the winery. This certainy packs great concentration for this variety. Finally their 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo, made from vineyards in Barbaresco and Dogliani. Not as extracted as their Nebbiolo for making their single-vineyard Barolos - a gentler style for earlier drinking, showcasing the best of this variety.
