Established in 1982 in the Mornington Peninsula by Richard and Jill McIntyre, Moorooduc is a small, family-run wine business that has built an enviable reputation for complex and food-friendly wines, focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The philosophy here is to use top-quality fruit produced by intensive, hands-on work in the vineyard and minimal use of chemicals. The wines are then fermented using wild yeasts and minimal intervention to allow them to express the character of their individual sites. The Chardonnay is more than just a typical cool-climate Chardonnay from Australia. It has real depth and complexity, with layers of flavour. The palate is refined and delicate, with layers of creaminess combined with the zesty fruits of melon and fig.
