Luigi Einaudi 2018 Dogliani Superiore 'Vigna Tecc'
Poderi Luigi Einaudi is arguably the best producer of Dolcetto in Italy, and their reputation goes back to 1896 when the winery was established by Luigi Einaudi, who later became the 2nd President of the Republic of Italy. This is their single vineyard Dolcetto made partly from vines planted in 1937. The wine is more profound than their regular Dogliani: richer, denser fruit and more complex. The nose has notes of black fruits, black cherries, brambles with high notes of redcurrant and purple flowers. This is a Dolcetto worth ageing, but surprisingly delicious in its youth.
