A recent discovery of ours is the great wines from South West France from Lionel Osmin, producer of some very interesting wines. This is a fascinating blend of varieties: Muscat, Muscadelle, Viognier, Gewurztraminer, and Riesling. The idea is to create a wine with the aromatic nature of Alsace, but in South West France. Surprisingly it is the Viognier component which dominates the aromatics. Highly unusual but delicious.
