Larry Cherubino 2022 Pedestal Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon
We have been following Larry Cherubino's excellent Western Australian wines for a few years, and we are continually impressed with his range. Pedestal is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River, which has inky-deep blackcurrant aromas and a freshness that is unique to this region. The palate follows with blackcurrant and additional notes of cedarwood and tobacco leaf.

The Producer

Larry Cherubino
Larry Cherubino Winery is one of Australia’s most celebrated modern wine producers. It crafts elegant and expressive wines from some of Western Australia’s finest vineyard sites. Established by Larry and Edwina Cherubino in 2005, the winery has gained an international reputation for its meticulous attention to detail, terroir-driven philosophy, and commitment to quality.
Based in Margaret River, with vineyards spanning across the Great Southern and Pemberton regions, Larry focuses on single-vineyard expressions that highlight the unique characteristics. From the maritime-cooled slopes of Margaret River to the high-altitude sites of the Great Southern, every vineyard is carefully managed to produce wines of depth, precision, and finesse.
The portfolio includes an impressive range of varieties, from refined Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River to aromatic Riesling and Shiraz from the cooler Great Southern region. Across all styles, the winemaking ethos remains the same: minimal intervention, sustainable practices, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Larry Cherubino himself is one of Australia’s most awarded winemakers, having earned numerous accolades, including multiple Halliday Wine Companion awards and recognition on the world stage. His wines consistently receive critical acclaim for their balance, purity, and ability to age gracefully.
Whether it’s the Pedestal Margaret River range, the regionally expressive Uovo collection, or the accessible Ad Hoc wines, every bottle's signature elegance defines it. Larry Cherubino Winery exemplifies modern Australian winemaking at its finest—an intersection of place, passion, and precision.

The Country

Australia
The UK is Australia's largest market by volume and second only to France in terms of countries in this market. There is no denying that the British love affair, which began in the 1980s, still continues. However, still the vast majority of what we see here, 85%, is bulk shipped. The nation struggles to celebrate its best wines and producers.
At Noble Grape we seek out the best that the Australia can offer and shout its regional diversity from the rooftops. Dowie Doole from McLaren Vale is one of the stars of our range. One of James Halliday's 5-star wineries, and offers incredible value for money.
Henschke is one of Australia's Crown Jewels. Now in their 6th generation of the Henschke family, the estate is most known for its old vines Shirazs from Eden Valley, culminating with Hill of Grace, one of the world's finest wines made from this variety.
Cool climate is all the rage now, and we have been seeking out delicious examples from Coonawarra, Yarra Valley and elsewhere. These wines smash the notion that Oz is all about big, jammy, alcoholic wines, bringing a degree of refreshment and sense of terroir.
