Kumeu River 2019 Hunting Hill Chardonnay

If you haven't heard already, 2019 from Kumeu River is one of the greatest vintages they have produced.

Hunting Hill is traditionally the favourite single vineyard of Kumeu River here at Noble Grape. With the 2019s it is more difficult than ever to single out one wine, but certainly this is the best Hunting Hill that we have yet tried. As ever, it is the most restrained and elegant of the wines, and also the most Burgundian being a facsimile for a classy Cru from Puligny Montrachet. Crystalline fruit, with notes of pine forest, freshly baked French bread, and bitter citrus. One for the cellar, drink from 2022 at the earliest.
