Gulfi 2022 Rossojbleo

We have long admired the wines of Gulfi, now they make a welcome return to our list. This is an organic producer in the southern part of Sicily in the province of Ragusa. The vineyards are fully mature Nero d'Avola and trained bush vine-style: naturally low-yielding, producing concentrated fruit. The resulting wine is aged only in stainless steel.

The fruit is bright, tinged with red berries, scorched earth, and Mediterranean herbs. This is a concentrated wine, but not at all heavy.
