Domaine Tempier 2019 Bandol Rouge 'La Cabassou' - Per Case of 6 In Bond
Cabassou is the smallest of Tempier's single vineyard wines. 1.5 hectares of the foot of La Tourtine. Here the vines are less exposed to the blowing Mistral: a warmer site, but of thin soils and 60 year old vines, producing the smallest yields within the Tempier estate. The wine is characterised by the dominance of Mourvedre which is typically 95% of the blend, the highest of all the wines, with the balance made up of Syrah and Cinsault.
This is the darkest, most mineral, and age worthy of all Tempier's wines. The dominance of Mourvedre and all its powerful tannins ensure this wine will slowly develop over a decade and beyond.
