Domaine Prieur Brunet 2020 Meursault Les Forges

In stock

Domaine Prieur Brunet is a historic domaine based in Santenay, purchased by Louis Jadot in 2018. The estate is essentially a single domaine within the Jadot empire, vinified at the Cellier des Jacobins winery in Beaune.

The vineyard of Les Forges is located on the eastern side of the vllage, close to the boundary with Monthelie. The wines produced here are long, richly-textured, with pronounced stoned fruit and hazelnut characteristics. Everything we expect from a classy village Meursault.

The Region

Burgundy is a fascinating region that can take a lifetime to understand its complexities. A myriad of appellations and single vineyards further complicated by thousands of producers and merchants, each with their own 'house' style.

In simple terms, Pinot Noir for the reds and Chardonnay for the whites, but there are a few other varieties that make cameos such as Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté and Gamay. The region stretches from Chablis in the north to Beaujolais in the south via the Cote d'Or, Maconnais and Chalonnaise.

Highlights include the outrageously good value Santenay from Prieur Brunet in the reds and J.A. Ferret's beautiful Pouilly Fuisse.
