Champagne Billecart Salmon 2008 Vintage Extra Brut
Billecart-Salmon's 2008 is a triumph. Bottled as an Extra Brut with only 4 grams/litre of sugar and made from 65% Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims and 35% Chardonnay from Cote des Blancs. The wine has spent 9 years on its lees, gaining complexity and mouthfeel. Although wonderful now, this has the capacity to age for another 10 years or beyond

Champagne Billecart-Salmon dates back to 1818. It is a small Champagne house with a focus on producing harmonious Champagnes from around 300 hectares of vines. The greatest claim to fame of Billecart is the 'Champagne of the Millennium' tasting which took place in 1999. A panel of expert tasters organised by writer and established Champagne guru Richard Jurlin voted Billecart's 1959 the overall winner. Not just that, their 1961 came 2nd.
We are pleased to introduce these wines, and we have started with a small range which comprises their Brut Reserve, Rosé and vintage 2008 Extra Brut
