Caliterra's Reserva Shiraz is grown in Chile's Colchagua Valley, one of Chile's premium red wine regions. The wine is aged for 6 months in French oak.

We love its bright, black fruit, tinged with floral and spicy notes.

Caliterra

Caliterra Winery, located in the heart of the Colchagua Valley, Chile, is deeply rooted in the region's rich viticultural history. It was founded in 1996 as a joint venture between Chile's esteemed Viña Errázuriz, known for its innovation and legacy, and the renowned Robert Mondavi Winery from California. This collaboration sought to create excellent wines that would reflect the diversity and potential of Chilean terroirs while incorporating sustainable and innovative winemaking practices.

In 2004, Viña Errázuriz assumed full ownership of Caliterra. The name "Caliterra" blends the Spanish words calidad (quality) and tierra (land), emphasizing its commitment to producing wines of exceptional quality that honour the land they come from.

Caliterra focuses on crafting wines that capture the essence of the Colchagua Valley. This region is celebrated for its Mediterranean climate and ideal conditions for varieties such as Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.

The Country

Chile

Chile

Chilean winemakers will tell you that this country is an almost perfect environment to grow wine grapes: a favourable climate, that has its fair share of cool, warm and hot spots, allowing for a wide range of styles and varieties to be grown. It is relatively pest and disease free, due to having the Andes on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, and of course it has the legacy of Spanish culture. It has somewhat made Carmenere its spiritual home, but aside from that variety there is a huge array of others grown here from the Rieslings of Bio Bio to the Syrahs of San Antonio, and all shades in-between.
