Prosecco & Conegliano Valdobbiadene
Prosecco has become a bit of a commodity here in the UK and many of the wines that are now being produced are done so to fit a price point, normally a very low one. However, a little bit of digging and you can still find value – after all, a poor quality wine can never be good value, no matter how little it costs.
The original heartland of Prosecco country is the two communes of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano where the pre-Alps form beautiful rolling hillsides. This region was given a separate classification in 2009 and rightly so, as it is here, and only here, that top quality Prosecco can be found.
