Dolcetto d'Alba

Dolcetto d’Alba

Dolcetto is often known as the Beaujolais of Italy, but I must admit that I don’t see it that way. For me it has a different character having quite strong tannins and soft acidity, quite the reverse of the Gamay grape that is used in Beaujolais. But it does have an instant appeal for its richly scented fruit of dark cherry and wild berries.
