Liguria
Liguria is no 18 of 20 in size of wine production of Italian regions, only pipped by Molise and Aosta. Whilst small, it has some features that make it of interest to us at Noble Grape. Being big fans of Vermentino, a variety grown right around the maritime regions of the Mediterranean, it is here that you can find some of the Italian mainland's best versions.
The region is tucked into the north-west corner of Italy linking Piedmont and Tuscany, and has a distinctly maritime climate. The wines are greatly influenced by this, differing greatly from the more continental wines of its neighbour, Piedmont, displaying the richness of body and salty tang.
