Errazuriz

Errazuriz

The Errazuriz Estate was founded in 1870 when Don Maximiano Errazuriz planted his first vineyards at Panquehue in the Aconcagua Valley – 100km north of Santiago.

Eduardo is Don Maximiano’s descendant and the 5th generation of his family to be involved in winemaking. Eduardo is without a doubt one of the most important actors in the Chilean wine scene and also one of its most enthusiastic and charismatic promoters. An Industrial Engineer by profession, after finishing university Eduardo learned viticulture and winemaking from his father Alfonso and later studied in Bordeaux. This education led him to bring new technological modernisations to the family winery and vineyard, enabling him to bring the winery into the 21st century and place Chile firmly on the fine wine map of the world.

In 2018, Eduardo was named ‘Decanter Man of the Year’ for his tireless championing of Chilean fine wine.

The estate consists of vineyards in three locations: Don Maximiano Estate in the Aconcagua Valley where the finest reds such as Founder's Reserve are made; the Manzanar Estate specialising in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc; and finally La Escultura in Casablanca, the coolest spot where Pinot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon also thrive.
