Will Lyons from the Sunday Times has discovered the delights our of Chianti Classico Riserva from Villa Cerna. 2016 is one of the best vintages in recent memory in Chianti and Villa Cerna has made their top wine sing in this vintage. "Since the 1960s, the Cecchi family has made Chianti Classico with meticulously chosen sangiovese and a little colorino. The result is deep violet with attractive red fruit and benefits from decanting" Will Lyons, Sunday Times 24th May 2020 We couldn't agree more. In fact Cecchi has been making wines in the region since 1893, but moved from their original home of Poggibonsi to Castellina in Chianti in 1963 and now owns several estates across the region and beyond. Familgia Cecchi is now run by the fourth generation of the family, Andrea Cecchi and is a shrewd and talented winemaker. Cecchi also owns a number of other estates, Villa Rosa in Chianti, Val delle Rose in Maremma, Castello di Montauto in San Gimignano and Tenuta Alzatura in Montefalco. We heartily recommend all of their wines to you.
